HOW Ksalol 1 mg IS USED
Use in adults
Your doctor will determine the appropriate dose of Ksalol 1 mg for you. It is recommended to always use the lowest effective dose first. If it is necessary to increase the dose, it should be gradual in order to avoid the risk of side effects. Usually, the evening dose is increased before the daily dose, to be more collected during the day. In case of side effects, the doctor may reduce the dose. The duration of therapy should be as short as possible. Your doctor will check you regularly to determine if you need to continue treatment, especially if you are asymptomatic.
Anxiety therapy and anxiety associated with depression
Treatment is started with a dose of 0.25 mg to 0.5 mg, three times a day.
The dose can be increased, depending on your needs, up to a maximum daily dose of 4 mg, which is taken
divided into several doses, for a maximum of 8-12 weeks, including a period of gradual discontinuation of therapy.
In some cases, it may be necessary to extend the treatment period above the maximum recommended duration of therapy. In that case, this must not be done without re-examining the patient.
Agoraphobia and panic disorders
Treatment of patients with agoraphobia associated with panic attacks with or without phobias should be initiated at doses of 0.5 mg to 1 mg taken at bedtime, for one or two days. The dose should then be adjusted for each patient individually.
The dose may be increased at intervals of 3 or 4 days, by a maximum of 1 mg. The dose is first increased at noon, then in the morning and finally in the afternoon / evening, until a dose regimen of 3 to 4 times a day is reached, for a maximum period of 8 months.
It is recommended that the patient be re-examined after 4 weeks of therapy for possible extension of treatment. Discontinuation of therapy
The dose should be reduced gradually. It is advised that the daily dose should be reduced by no more than 0.5 mg every three days. Some patients may require even a gradual dose reduction.
Use in elderly patients, patients with impaired renal and hepatic function
In elderly patients, patients with impaired liver and kidney function, or patients with severe diseases, the usual dose is 0.25 mg, given 2 to 3 times a day. If necessary and if the patient tolerates, this dose can be increased.
Use code children
Use in children is not recommended, as safety and efficacy in children under 18 years of age have not been established.
